San Ramon Art & Wind Festival
San Ramon is well known for its San Ramon Art & Wind Festival which showcases more than 200 community-based programs and activities to celebrate the start of summer. The San Ramon Art & Wind Festival started as the San Ramon Street Faire. It was renamed after the organizers added the wind theme in 1990. San Ramon has always been a windy city and the organizers decided to celebrate the winds that are such an integral part of life in San Ramon. The event is usually scheduled over Memorial Day weekend on Sunday and Monday in San Ramon’s Central Park at 12501 Alcosta Blvd.
Family- and kid-friendly activities such as professional kite flying demonstrations, more than 200 arts and crafts booths, variety entertainment by local schools and organizations on three stages, two large kids’ activity areas for free play, food booths featuring fair foods such as pretzels, funnel cakes, specialty sandwiches and other favorites. Some of the main attractions this year include an early morning hot air balloon launch and a hang gliding demonstration. No pets are allowed at the San Ramon Art & Wind Festival.
